Founded in 1945 with the creation of the CARE Package®, CARE is a leading humanitarian organization fighting global poverty. CARE places special focus on working alongside women and girls. Equipped with the proper resources, women and girls have the power to lift whole families and entire communities out of poverty.
CARE has been present in Rwanda since 1984 invited by the government of Rwanda to support in creating a society where dignity and security prevail for all and poverty is eradicated. With a focus on empowering women and girls, CARE works with the government, private sector and civil society organisations to implement community-based initiatives aimed at achieving these goals.
